Portugal will be looking for their first win in their Uefa Nations League Group B encounter when they take on Switzerland clash at Estádio José Alvalade on Sunday evening.
The Portuguese outfit comes into this encounter looking to bounce back after they came from a goal down to secure a 1-1 draw against Spain in their opening group match as Ricardo Horta cancelled out Alvaro Morata’s early first-half goal to earn his side a point at the Benito Villamarin in Sevilla on Thursday evening.
Switzerland, meanwhile, are looking to return to winning ways after they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Czech Republic through a goal from Jan Kuchta and an own goal by Djibril Sow at the Eden Arena in Prague.
Portugal now finds themselves sitting in second place in Group A2 level on one point with third-placed Spain, while Switzerland sit at the foot of the table yet to claim their first point.
In head-to-head stats, Portugal has a slight advantage over Switzerland, having won three out of the last five meetings between the two teams to Switzerland’s two wins in five.
Fernando Santos will have a fully fit side with the exception of Manchester City defender Ruben Dias, who continues to nurse his way back from an injury, while Murat Yakin will have his entire squad fit and ready for the encounter with no injuries on the cards.
