Chelsea will need to bounce back from their FA Cup disappointment as they next face a tricky clash against Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Thursday.

The Blues have endured a highly-disruptive end to the season, and it will end without silverware after losing the FA Cup final to Liverpool on Sunday.

At this point, the only consolation for Chelsea will be to ensure they finish the Premier League campaign in third place, and Thomas Tuchel’s team only need a solitary win from one of their last two matches to secure third.

Notably, though, Leicester look to be finishing the season with a flourish after back-to-back wins over Norwich and Watford, with eight goals scored and only one conceded, and so Chelsea will certainly be wary of the visitors.

Chelsea have actually only won one of their last five at home to Leicester, and so this is surprisingly one of those games where you wouldn’t want to predict an outright winner.

With just five days between Chelsea’s FA Cup penalty shoot-out defeat to Liverpool, it is also a quick turnaround, and Tuchel is likely to still be without the services of Kai Havertz (hamstring injury).

N’Golo Kante could be an option to start, and this will come as some relief considering the number of players Chelsea currently have on the treatment table.

In the opposite camp, Brendan Rodgers could opt for an unchanged side after thumping Watford 5-1 on Sunday, although keeper Kasper Schmeichel may return.

James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and Jamie Vardy are all in terrific form at the moment, with the latter scoring a brace against Norwich and Watford. You can bet on him being back on the scoresheet.

Ultimately, it has been a disappointing end to the season for Chelsea across all competitions, but there will be a fierce determination to at least finish the Premier League campaign on a high, and they should still be favourites on their home turf.
