BETTING PREVIEW: TS GALAXY vs KAIZER CHIEFS

Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping to exact their revenge on TS Galaxy when the two sides meet at the FNB Stadium in their next DStv Premiership encounter on Tuesday evening.

The Glamour Boys will come into this clash high in confidence after they returned to winning ways after claiming a comfortable 3-1 victory over Chippa United in their last game at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium over the weekend as Samir Nurkoivc, Keagan Dolly and Cole Alexander fired the team to victory.

The win saw Amakhosi remain in third place in the league standings with 38 points, trailing second-placed Royal AM by two points and log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by 13 points after 21 matches played.

BETTING: CHIEFS THE FAVOURITES

TS Galaxy will be looking to bounce back and return to winning ways after they were thrashed 4-1 at the hands of Royal AM at the Mbombela Stadium in their last league clash as they conceded a brace by Victor Letsoalo and goals from Ndumiso Mabena and Mfundo Thikazi while Augustine Chidi Kwem’s 45th-minute goal proved to be a consolation.

The defeat leaves the Rockets lavishing in 15th position in the league table – level on 18 points with 14th placed Swallows FC and a point above the bottom of the table Baroka FC.

Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter says: “I think the game [against Chippa] fell into two categories. It was a tough game mentally for the players because it’s one of those games where we knew that if we don’t get anything but a win then, we are not serious about the rest of the term.

“Now we can go into the rest of the season hunting. So it was an important win for us. But every game will be the same, it will be a Cup final. When you go one in front and score a second goal it’s also a mental kick in between the legs.

“And to come back from that, I think that was ‘well done lads’. I was happy with the tactical and technical part for the 70 minutes of the 90. I think we had a period in the first half and early in the second half where we didn’t commit enough.”

Heading into this fixture, TS Galaxy has the advantage over Kaizer Chiefs in head-to-head stats, having won two games, drawing two and conceding only one defeat to the Amakhosi giants in their last five meetings.

I

Despite Galaxy’s recent form in the league, Augustine Chidi Kwem has been their standout performer in the last few games after scoring two goals in his last two matches with the most recent win coming in their defeat to Royal AM over the weekend.
