Cape Town City will look to secure back to back victories in the league when they face Pirates following their 1-0 win over Lamontville Golden Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium last Sunday afternoon through a late second-half goal by Khanyiso Mayo.

The win saw the Citizens move up to ninth place in the league standings with 26 points from 18 matches after they won six, drew eight and suffered four defeats.

Although Bandile Shandu has been the man in form for Pirates in recent games, he is still one goal behind their top scorer Deon Hotto, who currently sits on five goals in all competitions, while City star Mduduzi Mdatsene continues to lead City’s goalscoring charts with seven goals in 23 appearances.

Pirates co-coach Mandla Ncikazi will be boosted by the fact that he’ll have a fully fit squad for the tie with no injuries or suspensions, while City mentor Eric Tinkler remains without the services of veteran goalkeeper Darren Keet, who continues to recover from a torn muscle.
