Cape Town City and Kaizer Chiefs will be determined to put their Nedbank Cup woes behind them when they face off in the DStv Premiership at the DHL Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The hosts will go into their next game hoping to bounce back after they were eliminated from the Nedbank Cup following a 2-1 defeat to Royal AM in the last 32 at the Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday afternoon when Khanyisa Mayo’s opener was cancelled out by an own goal from Katlego Mokhuoane and a goal from Lantshene Phalane.
Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping to return to winning ways following their narrow 1-0 defeat to TS Galaxy in the Nedbank Cup round of 32 at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening as Augustine Chidi Kwem’s goal saw Chiefs early elimination from the competition.
Mduduzi Mdantsane is currently the leading top scorer for the Citizens with seven goals in 20 games heading into their next game, while Keagan Dolly is Chiefs’ highest goals scorer so far with six and three assists followed by Khama Billiat in second place with five goals and six assists to his name.
City boss Eric Tinkler is expected to have a full fit ready to face Amakhosi, while under-pressure Stuart Baxter will continue to be with Dumisani Zuma, who continues to nurse his long term injury while their last game saw the return of both Samir Nurkovic and Leonardo Castro.
