Manchester United and Chelsea are geared up for their upcoming match against Atalanta and Malmo their third match of the Champions League group stages on Wednesday evening.

Manchester United vs Atalanta

Manchester United are back in action and will be aiming to secure their second straight win when they host Italian side Atalanta in their Champions League Group F clash at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side has had a mix to their group stage campaign and managed to claim their first win in the previous round when they ran out 2-1 winners over Villarreal at Old Trafford after Alex Telles and Bruno Fernandes cancelled out Paco Alcacer’s opener.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s men ,like United, secured their first victory in the group when they defeat Young Boys 1-0 when Matteo Pessina scored the only goal of the game.

Atalanta currently top Group F with four points after securing one win and one draw, while United sit third on the table with three points after two games in which they won one and conceded one defeat.

The two sides have never met before and this will be the first time Manchester United will square off against Serie A outfit Atalanta when they meet at Old Trafford.

Predicted XI:

Manchester United: David de Gea, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly, Luke Shaw, Nemanja Matic, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Atalanta: Juan Musso, Jose Luis Palomino, Merih Demiral, Rafael Toloi, Davide Zappacosta, Remo Freuler, Marten De Roon, Joakim Maehle, Ruslan Malinovskyi, Josip Ilicic, Duvan Zapata.

Chelsea vs Malmo

Chelsea will be looking to make it six points from nine in the Champions League group stage when Malmo visit Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

Thomas Tuchel’s outfit comes in this game after conceding a narrow 1-0 defeat to Juventus in their previous Group H encounter at the Allianz Stadium in Turin with Federico Chiesa scoring the decisive goal of the match.

Malmo, meanwhile, succumbed to a humbling 4-0 defeat against Russian side Zenit St Petersburg at the Saint Petersburg Stadium as Claudinho, Daler Kuzyaev, Aleksey Sutormin and Wendel all got their names on the scoresheet.

The Blues occupy second place in Group H with three points, claiming one win and one draw, while Malmo sits at the bottom of the group and yet to claim their first point, having lost their first two games in the competition.

Chelsea are heavy favourites to win this encounter against Malmo, as they look to bounce back post their disappointing performance against Juventus which would put them in a commanding position to challenge for the top spot, while Malmo looks to open their account as underdogs against the defending European champions.

In the last game between Chelsea and Malmö FF, the Blues cruised to a comfortable 3-0 in the Uefa Europa League at Stamford Bridge in February 2019 during the 2018/19 season.

Predicted XI:

Edouard Mendy, Andreas Christensen, Thiago Silva, Trevor Chalobah, Ben Chilwell, Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, Cesar Azpilicueta, Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Romelu Lukaku.

Malmo: Ismael Diawara, Eric Larsson, Anel Ahmedhodžić, Franz Brorsson, Lasse Nielsen, Martin Olsson, Erdal Rakip, Bonke Innocent, Anders Christiansen, Veljko Birmančević, Antonio Čolak.
