The DStv Premiership is back in action this week as Kaizer Chiefs take on Chippa United in an important clash at the FNB Stadium on Sunday evening.

Amakhosi will go into this encounter on a four game winless run in the DStv Premiership after playing out a 1-1 draw against AmaZulu at the Jonsson Kings Park Stadium in Durban when a late penalty from Keagan Dolly cancelled Luvuyo Memela’s opener.

The Soweto giants sit in 12th place with six points from six games, having won just one game, drawn three and conceded two defeats thus far.

Chippa, meanwhile, have not claimed a victory in their last five games and before the international break they earned a valuable point at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium when they played out to a goalless draw against SuperSport United.

The Chilli Boys are a place below Amakhosi with five points after winning just one game, drawing two and suffering three defeats in six matches.

When the two sides last squared off on Wednesday, 28 April 2021, the Chilli Boys came out on top after securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Amakhosi at the FNB Stadium through a 84th minute winner by Cameroonian attacker Bienvenu Eva Nga.

Coach Gavin Hunt will be hoping Chippa can return to winning ways by snatching maximum points from his former employers upon his return to the FNB Stadium, while Chiefs boss’ Stuart Baxter will be aiming to get their campaign back on track by rediscovering their winning mentality.
