Chelsea will be eying a place inside the top four when they entertain Brighton at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.
The Blues will be wary of putting the cart before the horse with their visitors desperate for points as they begin down in 16th. The Seagulls are six points clear of the relegation zone.
The home side have been enduring some patchy form all season with a loss to Porto and West Brom in recent outings combined with wins over Manchester City in the FA Cup and Crystal Palace in league duty.
Chelsea do however boast a stellar record over Brighton; they have won 12 of their last 14 matches against the Seagulls. One concern for Thomas Tuchel’s developing unit is their woeful home league form which has seem record just seven wins at home from 15 outings.
In their previous fixture, Brighton earned a point against Everton a week ago.
Tuchel has a few injury concerns with Mateo Kovacic and Andreas Christensen are both doubtful alongside Thiago Silva.
South African fans will be disappointed to learn that the pre-match talk suggests Percy Tau won’t play a part in London. He joins the likes of Florin Andone, Tariq Lamptey and Solly March on the injured list.
Brighton will be out for an upset and do pose a significant threat through their attacking lineup with includes Neal Maupay, Danny Welbeck and Leandro Trossard.
Suggested bet: Chelsea to win 2-0 at 6.4
