Liverpool host Everton in the weekend’s stand-out fixture as the defending champions look to arrest their poor league form.
The Reds welcome the Toffees in a battle for Merseyside; although the reigning kings of England begin in sixth place and in a run of form that has included three straight league defeats.
Everton’s recent resurgence has also taken a dip and they begin the clash at Anfield on the back of two losses and a draw. The blue half of Liverpool are in seventh and just three back of their lofty neighbours.
Mo Salah and Sadio Mane helped Liverpool put RB Leipzig to the sword with Jurgen Klopp’s men now within 90 minutes of the next phase of the Champions League.
That win combined with Everton’s poor form of late – five points earned from the last 18 on offer – means that the injury-hit Reds should still have enough to prevail and end their uncharacteristic run of poor results at home.
Fabinho and James Milner remain major doubts to make the squad for Saturday while Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti sweats on the fitness of ace pair midfielder Allan and in-form forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Suggested bet: Both teams to score at 1.73
