Leicester City host Manchester United in the pick of the Boxing Day fixtures in the Premier League.
Third-placed United travel to the King Power Stadium to face second-placed Leicester City. The visitors have won four from their last five league encounters to move steadily into contention but a loss on Boxing Day could see them drop as low as seventh.
That’s just how tight things are in the league this season as teams jostle to line up as Liverpool’s main rivals.
Much of this contest will be centred around how much time on the ball Bruno Fernandes has to pull the strings and set Marcus Rashford on his way versus how quickly the Foxes can transition from defence to offence and get Jamie Vardy running lines in between the United centre backs.
If Vardy can expose Victor Lindelof, then the Foxes could well have a good number of scoring opportunities.
United’s form against the Foxes is good and have the right tools to expose their hosts set piece frailties.
Suggested bet: Draw at 3.42
Also in action on Boxing Day, Arsenal host Chelsea with Mikel Arteta desperate for points.
The Gunners are down in 15th and have four losses and a draw in their last five outings. The shock win at Old Trafford aside, Arsenal have failed to deliver and another poor showing against the Blues – who bounced back with a 3-0 win over West Ham – could cost him his job.
Suggested bet: Over 2.5 match goals at 1.87
In the late fixture, Manchester City – who dumped Arsenal out of the Carabao Cup with a 4-1 win on Wednesday – are expected to run riot against Newcastle.
City are in eighth and can ill afford another slip up against a typically in and out of form Newcastle lineup.
Suggested bet: Manchester City to win 3-0 at 6.25
