Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town City FC are all in action on Tuesday as the PSL resumes.
Sundowns vs TS Galaxy
The defending champions must fulfil their Premiership obligations despite mourning the loss of Bafana Bafana defender Motjeka Madisha, who passed away in a car accident on the weekend. Sundowns entertain TS Galaxy in a strong position as they top the league with 14 points from 6 matches. The visitors are ninth after making a credible start to life in the big leagues with a win‚ four draws and a loss.
Sundowns’ last result was a 1-1 draw against lowly Maritzburg United where the in-form Themba Zwane struck for Masandawana once more. The influential midfielder now has six goals and will be the one to lift his side to victory once more.
Suggested bed: Sundowns to win 2-0 at 5.25
Stellenbosch vs Cape Town City
The Cape derby is going to be one to watch with the hosts starting the match just a point behind City.
The visitors are taking nothing for granted as they look to improve on their 5th place standing.
“We have two clubs when they play against each other the spectators have a special emotion with it and automatically for the players, it is creating a little bit by saying it is a derby but at the end, they will get some energy from that,” said coach Jan Olde Riekerink.
“The way we prepare our team for this game with the idea that we will play against a team that will sit back but I think they have their strength in the way they play, it is not only defensive, but they are also very good on transition they are very good with balls behind our defence. We played a few friendlies against the and it’s always difficult to play against them so it is also a compliment of the coach in the way they play. “
City, in fact, start as the underdogs with 2.89 to win this contest.
Suggested bet: City to win or draw at 1.45
SuperSport United vs Kaizer Chiefs
The hosts may be down in sixth place but a win tonight – their game in hand over the majority of the league – would send them second. The contrast to that upside is the struggles facing their guests.
Gavin Hunt’s time in charge of Chiefs has been anything but glamourous. Amakhosi sit in 12th and that’s only after rescuing a point against Black Leopards with a late showing.
“We must just avoid committing crucial mistakes. We are playing against a SuperSport United which has energetic youngsters in their team. They will be a difficult opponent but it’s the same with all the teams that we face in this league,” said Hunt said on Chiefs’ website.
Dumisani Zuma will return for Hunt’s side but is only like to see any action from the bench.
SuperSport will be looking to match a fast start after not featuring for two weeks.
“For us it has been a very long two-three weeks since we last played. But we have prepared very well, we have had a few players coming back from injury and I hope this break has done us good going into the game,” said SuperSport head coach Kaitano Tembo.
For Tembo, he will be looking for Bradley Grobler to continue his merry ways against Chiefs. Grobler has four goals in five matches this season and a few more on Tuesday will go down as a festive present.
Suggested bet: SuperSport United to win at 2.51
