Manchester United’s impressive Champions League form will be tested when last season’s beaten finalists PSG arrive for a Group H encounter.
The Red Devils top the group with nine points leaving PSG and RB Leipzig chasing with six points each from four games. With Leipzig expected to breeze past Istanbul Basaksehir, this contest could very well determine the fate of the free-spending Parisians.
United against PSG is developing into one of Europe’s great rivalries in modern times with the French side having been knocked out of the 2018-19 competition in spectacular fashion. A 2-0 first leg win was rendered meaningless after Marcus Rashford inspired a 3-1 return win.
Pitted together this year, it was Rashford again who helped United to a win as they left the French capital with a 2-1 win back in October.
The home side have a few injury concerns none more pressing than David De Gea but will be able to fight fire with fire as the threats of Kylain Mbappe, Neymar and Marco Verratti are offset by the form shown by Bruno Fernandes, Edinson Cavani and of course Rashford.
PSG’s last result was a draw 2-2 with Bordeaux as they continue to stutter in the early part of the campaign.
More defensive issues at the Theatre of Dreams could leave their continental ambitions hanging by a thread.
