Chelsea find themselves top of Group B in Champions League action and looking to stamp their authority away at Rennes.
Rennes are in big trouble … with just a point to their name so far in the Champions League, they welcome Chelsea with a poor record across all competitions. The French side have tasted defeat in five of their last six matches in all competitions, including a 1-0 home loss to Bordeaux on Friday.
Chelsea are looking to continue their good form under Frank Lampard who watched on as the Blues bagged a big home win against Rennes and an enjoyed a solid outing against Newcastle on the weekend.
Chelsea forward Timo Werner missed a number of good chances against the Magpies before setting up Tammy Abraham to seal the 2-0 win. But, while he stays on four Premier League goals, he can move onto the same amount in as many games if he is a little more clinical in front of the posts.
He netted a brace last time out against Rennes and should be the key man in Tuesday’s battle for the Blues to bank qualification.
