CHIEFS, PIRATES SET UP MTN8 SEMI THRILLER

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will meet in the last four of the MTN8 after both Soweto giants overcome tricky quarter-final contests.

The Glamour Boys, under Gavin Hunt’s watchful eye for the first time, were forced to come from 1-0 down against the Team of Choice. In fact, Chiefs did well to limit the damage in the first half as Thabiso Kutumela and Judas Moseamedi ran riot.

Hunt’s side rebounded though and started to create chances of their own. Fortunately for Chiefs, Yagan Sasman was clinical in the box and scored a brace to send his side into a derby encounter.

In the other last eight encounter, new signing  Terrence Dzvukamanja got onto the scoresheet as the Buccaneers finally ended their terrible record against Cape Town City.

SuperSport United will face Bloemfontein Celtic in the other semi-final fixture.
