Kagiso Rabada was the star of the show as the Delhi Capitals demolished the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Australian Marcus Stoinis top scored with 53 off 26 as the Capitals reached 196/4.
Despite the impressive total, the South African fast bowler was going to be required to be at his best. And he was.
He got rid of Virat Kohli and Washington Sundar before striking late to remove Shivum Dube and Isuru Udana as the Challengers were reduced to 137/9.
It wasn’t only Rabada to shine a positive spotlight on the South Africans in this IPL contest as Anrich Nortje chipped in with two wickets and went for just 22 in his four overs.
His main scalp was that of AB de Villiers, who fell for just nine on yet another disastrous night for the star-studded RCB.
Rabada’s coach at the Capitals, Ricky Ponting, took to social media to praise his bowler. He wrote: “@rabada_25‘s start this season is great reward for his work, one of the best T20 bowlers in the world. The efforts of our whole bowling group in holding RCB to 137 was pleasing, building off the work of our batsmen who set things up nicely. Couple of days now to reset before looking ahead to Rajasthan.”
