Samir Nurkovic’s outstanding season in the PSL has attracted interest from around the continent including Al Ahly.
Nurkovic scored 14 goals in his debut campaign in South Africa as he led Kaizer Chiefs to within one match of reclaiming the country’s highest honour.
Now, the Glamour Boys are being forced to issue a statement over his availability as the club continue to sweat on a transfer ban. It remains to be seen whether Chiefs will offer Nurkovic a new deal to move him on par with the top earners at Naturena like Khama Billiat, Itumeleng Khune, Leonardo Castro, Lebogang Manyama and Bernard Parker.
The Serbian has two years left on his initial deal in South Africa.
Among the interested clubs are Al Ahly, the new club of Pitso Mosimane after he shocked Sundowns by swapping South Africa for Egypt recently.
“I think [Nurkovic] deserves something, to be honest. The guy played well, the guy attacks, scores, defends. He’s unbelievable, he’s a monster. He’s done very well,” said Mosimane some time ago.
