Game week 2 offers up a number of exciting fixtures and some too close to call but none as intriguing as Liverpool’s visit to Chelsea.
The Blues opened up their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Brighton while Liverpool, fresh off their first domestic league win in three decades, kicked off with a thrilling 4-3 win over newly-promoted Leeds.
Chelsea were undoubtedly the winners of the transfer market as Frank Lampard added Hakim Ziyech, Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell (all unused against Brighton), Malang Sarr, and Kai Havertz and Timo Werner to their already strong roster.
The Reds did well to keep hold of their stars in the off season and will look to maintain their recent good form over Chelsea going in this early season arm wrestle.
Chelsea have just one win over Liverpool at home in their last three outings with that win their only three pointer agains the Reds in five matches home and away.
Combine their status as champions, good historical form, last week’s win despite everything performance and Chelsea’s squad still getting to know each other and there is a recipe for another goal-laden encounter.
Suggested bet: Over 3.5 match goals at 2.45
The clash at Stamford Bridge kicks off at 5:30pm on Sunday, 20 September.
