LeBron James scored 29 points to help the LA Lakers advance to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in a decade.
James has been key all series and his display in Game 5 was another indicator of his legend status as the Houston Rockets were brushed aside 119-96.
“It’s the reason I wanted to be a part of this franchise, to take them back to a place that they were accustomed to being – and that’s competing for a championship,” James said.
“It’s an honour for me to wear the purple and gold, and for us, we just try to continue the legacy.”
This will be James’ 11th visit to the Conference Finals. He had six with Cleveland, four with Miami and now his first with the Lakers.
“The opportunity to play for a championship, that is what we are all here for, that is what we all signed up for,” he said.
