PSL Betting Preview

The final day of the PSL and everything is on the line from the Golden Boot to the relegation playoffs and of course, the title which is now just 90 minutes away from its destination.

Mamelodi Sundowns vs Black Leopards

Three goals behind and playing the relegation candidates. Can Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane lift his charges for a spectacular showing? A win over Leopards is a foregone conclusion in most’s eyes but in football anything can happen and in this season, it has.

Suggested bet: Sundowns to win at 1.62

Bidvest Wits vs Polokwane City

The farewell match that no one expected. Polokwane City shouldn’t play the role of party dampeners? You wouldn’t expect so. Wits are playing for a place in the Caf Confederation Cup which would be a wonderful send off for a squad that has endured so much.

Suggested bet: Wits to win at 1.42

Orlando Pirates vs Stellenbosch

Pirates have more to play for than one thinks … a place in the Caf Confederation Cup and Gabadinho Mhango’s bid for the Golden Boot. Mhango’s drought breaker in the previous round has him firmly in the mix to bag the league’s top individual honour.

Suggested bet: Pirates to win at 1.42

Cape Town City vs SuperSport United

The league’s two hottest sides face off. It’s 7th vs 3rd and it’s too close to call.

“We played well against Baroka and got into good areas but I think the goal that we conceded was a little bit disappointing. We could have defended better and that goal put us on the back foot because you don’t want to be chasing the game when you are dominating‚” said coach Kaitano Tembo said after his side’s last game.

Suggested bet: Draw at 3.13

Amazulu vs Highlands Park

Both sides are in form and are unbeaten in their last few outings. The Lions of the North are well priced although Usuthu will be playing for their status as they sit in 13th but just one point above Baroka.

Suggested bet: Highlands Park win, draw no bet at 1.80

Chippa United vs Golden Arrows

Another one where it’s too close to call. It’s Chippa in 12th place and safe – who would’ve thought that with their usual coaching drama?! – against Arrows, who also have nothing to fear.

Suggested bet: Draw at 3.03

Bloemfontein Celtic vs Maritzburg United

Celtic are 2.78 to win as are Maritzburg. And the draw is priced at 2.78. Clearly this is the hardest match to call of the weekend. Maritzburg must be fancied for the win as they look to cement their place inside the top 8.

Suggested bet: Maritzburg United to win at 2.78

Baroka vs Kaizer Chiefs

Chiefs to win the title and Baroka to go into the relegation playoffs. That’s what the bookmakers are thinking with the odds. It appears Chiefs’ Samir Nurkovic won’t be winning the Golden Boot but a good performance here will surely earn him the Player of the Season award. For Baroka, a win would seem save their status. The stakes couldn’t be higher.

“You have to give it to Chiefs,” said Pitso Mosimane.

“I mean they have won nothing for the past five or six years. They are a big team and they deserve something, to be honest and they fought for it. So‚ it’s okay because you can’t win everything but we are fighting,” he added.

The mind games are on.

Suggested bet: Chiefs to win at 1.72
