FA Cup final betting preview: Manchester Derby

Manchester United can deny their arch rivals a treble with a win at Wembley in the FA Cup final.

So far, the red half will be pleased with the fighting talk. Manager Erik ten Hag has vowed that Manchester United would “give everything” to prevent City from matching his club’s treasured treble.

City breezed past Arsenal to tick the first box while Inter Milan are unfancied to trouble City in the Champions League final in two weeks.

BET ON THE FA CUP FINAL

Saturday’s final at Wembley kicks off at 4pm.

United advanced to the final after beat Brighton on penalties. City breezed into the finals after beating Sheffield United 3-0.

Brentford earned a first league double over Manchester City in 85 years to throw some fresh angles into this match, as the Bees snatched a 1-0 final-day victory over the Premier League champions thanks to a late goal from Ethan Pinnock.

With that loss breaking their excellent run of form, City are also sweating on injuries to Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji, Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish.

All eyes will be on Pep Guardiola with the Champions League a week after this intriguing Manchester Derby.

But former Manchester United star has outlined a plan to stop City.

“I think I would play Bruno on Rodri,” he said, speaking on his Five podcast.

“Everything great about this City team, a lot of it comes through him. I want someone on him who can just buzz around him but when we get the ball run off him.

“He (Rodri) is so integral to what they do so stop him getting on the ball, allow John Stones to come out and create holes for the front three to run into. I would want to keep Rodri quiet and I would entice one of the back four to keep coming out with the ball, which has been Stones recently, and I would let him come as far as he wants when you have people like Rashford and Sancho to run into those big gaps.”

Antony is the only new injury concern for Ten Hag after the Brazilian was stretchered off in the Red Devils come from behind win over Fulham on Sunday.

Victor Lindelof will continue to fill in for Lisandro Martinez in defence with Harry Maguire unlikely to start.

Manchester United actually won the last meeting between the pair, a 2-1 win but before that City beat their rivals 6-3 and 4-1.

So while City are the favourites, injuries and the Champions League final have this match as more even than many might’ve expected.
