Erling Haaland banked his fourth hat-trick of the season as Manchester City smashed Wolves 3-0.
It means that Norwegian is now one behind Alan Shearer’s tally of 5 in a single campaign.
Haaland reached four trebles in just 19 games which is far better than the previous mark set by Ruud van Nistelrooy – who took 65 games to do it.
So while he might be second in terms of most hat-tricks in a season, he’s first in the race to four triple strikes.
Haaland now has 25 league goals with 18 matches to play. That number is already better than the last four season winners …
The City forward is now chasing Mo Salah’s mark of 32 goals before going for 34 goals which was set by Alan Shearer and matched by Andy Cole but that was when there were more than 38 games played in a season.
