Morocco will be relishing the chance to hand Spain their second consecutive defeat when they meet in the World Cup last 16 at the Education City Stadium in Doha on Tuesday evening.
The African side will come into this encounter after they progressed to the knockout stages when they finished top of Group F with six points after defeating Canada and Belgium, while playing to a draw against Croatia.
Spain, meanwhile, made their way to this stage of the competition after finishing second in Group E with four points, having beaten Costa Rica, drawing against Germany and conceding a defeat to Japan.
Spain manager Luis Enrique: “I have nothing to celebrate, I’m not at all happy. I wanted to be first in the group and win this match.
“I warned the players at half time that Japan would come out on top but we went into collapse mode. I repeat: I have nothing to celebrate.”
The two teams have only met once before at the World Cup, with the match ending in a thrilling 2-2 draw at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Walid Regragui and Luis Enrique will be boosted by the fact that both camps has no fresh injury concerns or suspensions ahead of the match in Doha.
Hakim Ziyech will be looking to build on his form during the group stages, having contributed to two goals, including one goal and an assist in three matches.
Alvaro Morata has been a man in form for Spain during the group stages, having found the back of the net in all three matches.
